Abstract: In the past decade and a half, there has been an attempt, initiated by Nori, to develop an obstruction theory for projective modules, similar to the existing theory for vector bundles. This has been developed by several mathematicians at TIFR and elsewhere. This talk aims to survey theabove developments and mention some recent results.
