Abstract: In this colloquium I will look at the topic of commuting probability in a group, and that of simultaneous conjugacy of commuting tuples of elements of a group, and the relation between the two topics. I will give a brief survey of the work done the topic of commuting probabilities, and give an overview of my work on simultaneous conjugacy.
