Abstract: The $/phi^4$ model is a natural generalization of the Ising model to the case of unbounded spins. Although its origins are in Quantum Field Theory, the model has played a pivotal role in the development of renormalization group methods and towards characterizing the Ising universality class. Mathematically, the rigorous study of its critical phenomena is far from complete, particularly in low dimensions. In this colloquium, I will talk about recent works with Christoforos Panagiotis, Romain Panis, and Franco Severo towards developing robust and non-perturbative tools based on percolation representations to attack these problems.
