Directions
The school will take place at the Tata Institute for Fundamental Research, at Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai (n´e Bombay).
For speakers only:
We will make arrangements for you to be picked up at the airport and brought to the Institute Guest House. Please send us your flight schedule. You will be able to check in even if you arrive late at night.
For non-speakers:
Non-speakers may follow these directions. Here is a summary.
From the international airport: Take a pre-paid taxi (for a fixed rate, on display) to the Tata Institute at Navy Nagar. Here are some instructions for the driver in case of need: reach Cuffe Parade up to President Hotel; keep driving until the end of the street, where there is a circle; turn to the right in the circle, so that you will be on Homi Bhabha Road; go up to the very end of the road. The last gate on the left side is the Institute. The last gate on the right side is the Institute's colony, where the Guest House is located. The last but one gate belongs to the Navy; should you arrive their by mistake, they should be able to redirect you to the Institute. Keep your receipt.
From the national airport (national terminal of Sivaji airport): Take a (metered) taxi from the queue. Follow the same instructions as before.
From CST/VT station: Take a taxi as above. Alternatively, take one of the following buses: 3, 6, 11 or 125. Get off at Navy Nagar, the last stop in the route. Walk up to the end of the street to reach the Institute and the Guest House.
From Churchgate station: Take a taxi or bus 137; follow the instructions above.
From other stations: Take a taxi as above. Alternatively, take a bus to CST/VT station (if you are at Kurla station) or Churchgate (if you are at Bombay Central or Bandra), thereby reducing the problem to one already solved.
Attention non-speakers:
Some of you will be staying at YWCA, rather than at the TIFR Guest House. You will be contacted to inform you of the same in early July. Transport between YWCA and TIFR will be arranged by the organisers. The directions for getting to YWCA are as follows. Ask the taxi driver to go to Regal cinema Colaba. Just before it there is a circle. Turn right on the circle and you will be on Madame Cama road. About 3 to 4 buildings away on this road, next to St Anne's high school, you will find the YWCA international guest house on your left.
