The School

The School of Mathematics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, was founded in the late 1940s, and has over the years established itself as one of the leading centers for research in many branches of pure mathematics. Currently the school has faculty members conducting research in broad areas of Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Analysis, Combinatorics, Dynamics, Geometry, Number Theory, Probability Theory, Representation Theory, and Topology.

The School of Mathematics provides a vibrant research atmosphere with an active graduate program, regular colloquia and research seminars, and a constant stream of academic visitors and postdoctoral researchers.
