On the nonabelian tensor product and the box-tensor product of groups: The nonabelian tensor product of groups arose in connection with homotopy theory. It was introduced by R. Brown and J.-L. Loday, extending ideas of J.H.C. Whitehead. A special case, the nonabelian tensor square, already appeared in the work of R.K. Dennis where it arises in connection with algebraic K-theory. We introduce the nonabelian tensor product and the box-tensor product of two groups and discuss various properties of these groups.
