The later mathematics of Alexandre Grothendieck:  I will talk about the lesser known mathematics of Alexandre Grothendieck, that he worked on after leaving his research institute in 1970 at the age of 42. He stopped publishing, and it was widely thought that he had stopped working on mathematics to turn his attention to other matters. However in fact he produced several large manuscripts during this time. I will briefly describe their contents, spending the most time on the subject that he himself considered as the most fascinating of all the topics he developed after 1970, which today is called "Grothendieck-Teichmüller theory". During this talk I will also describe some elements of Grothendieck's life and biography in those later years.
