Abstract: In 2004, Corvaja and Zannier proved a moving target of Roth's inequality using the subspace theorem and as an application of their result, they solved a classification problem of Mahler. Kulkarni et al (in 2019) and Veekesh kumar (in 2023) considered an inhomogeneous version of Covaja-Zannier's result. Recently, along with Oais Bhat Ahmad and A. Tripathi, we completed this inhomogeneous version of this problem. In this talk, we shall discuss the history of the problem and its proof.
