The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai organizes a two-week summer school, the Vigyan Vidushi program in Mathematics for Indian women students in mathematics. The aim of this program is to expose participants to some advanced core topics in mathematics and encourage them to consider research in mathematics as a career option. The selected students will get an opportunity to attend lecture courses on a variety of topics. There will also be special lectures and interaction sessions with women researchers.
The courses will focus on strengthening basic understanding of core mathematical concepts. Conveying the unique perspectives of active researchers will be an essential feature of this summer school.

Eligibility
- Women students enrolled in the first year of a two-year MSc degree program in mathematics, or the fourth year of an Integrated BSc-MSc degree program in mathematics (or equivalent).
- Exceptionally good, motivated women students in the final year of their bachelor degree program or the third year of an Integrated BSc-MSc degree program in mathematics (or equivalent) may also apply.

c) Consolidated mark sheets in pdf format.

The selected candidates will receive formal invitations with more details shortly. The selected candidates should confirm their participation in the program by Wednesday, May 15. The waitlisted candidates will be contacted if some spots become available, only after May 16.

The selected candidates are required to confirm their online participation by sending an email to "vvmath @ math . tifr . res . in" with the subject "MATH-VV2021-80xxx: Confirmation" (replace xxx with the last three digits of your reference number) on or before June 30, 2021. The candidates who confirm their online participation will receive the Zoom link and password in an email a few days before the program.
The applicants whose names do not appear in the selection list will also get the opportunity to attend the program virtually via a YouTube stream.

Travel reimbursements
Outstation participants will be paid 1.33 times the second-class return train fare by the shortest route from the railway station nearest to their place of residence (this is taken as the address for correspondence given in your application; any different address needs prior permission) to Mumbai. Those who need to travel more than 500 kms will be paid sleeper class fare. Those travelling by air will be paid eligible train fare.
Please note that you are required to submit the original of your onward journey ticket and copy of your return journey ticket along with the travel re‐imbursement form when you arrive for the program. Participants travelling by air and claiming travel reimbursement will be required to produce the air ticket and the boarding pass.
Accommodation
Participants will be provided accommodation on-campus in the institute guest house and the student hostel (on a twin-sharing basis).
Others
Local food expenses of participants for the entire duration of the programme will be covered by the Institute.
