Title of Talk: Degree two GW=GV invariants of local curves.
Speaker: Anantadulal Paul, TIFR, Mumbai
Date: March 10, 2025
Time: 16:00:00 Hours
Venue: AG-77
Abstract: Gromov-Witten invariants of a smooth projective Calabi-Yau 3-fold X are rational numbers defined by intersection theory on the moduli spaces of stable maps to X. Donaldson-Thomas invariants are roughly the count of ideal sheaves on X. The MNOP conjecture offers an explanation of a correspondence between these two invariants. Similarly, Gopakumar-Vafa invariants (originally introduced by physicists) for X are conjecturally equivalent to other curve counting invariants such as Gromov-Witten invariants (GV=GW conjecture). In this talk, we will discuss an approach to determine the GV invariants for the so-called local curves, and provide some evidence to the GV=GW conjecture, following the arxiv preprint: 2408.11698.
